Dengue fever is an infection spread by Aedes mosquitos that carry dengue viruses. These mosquitos breed in water, including any water containers such as storage tanks, flower pots, discarded cups and bottles, and other areas where water is stagnant. These mosquitos bite throughout the day, but especially between 6AM-8AM, and 4PM-6PM, sunrise and sunset.
SYMPTOMS
Dengue can cause a variety of symptoms from mild to severe. Initial symptoms of Dengue include the following:
Fever
Headache
Pain behind the eyes
Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
Rashes
Joint & muscle pain
Symptoms of severe Dengue cases include the following:
Severe abdominal pain
Nose or gum bleeding
Easy bruisability
Dark-coloured stools
Difficulty breathing

TREATMENT
Most cases of Dengue fever can be managed at home. If you get Dengue, it is important to:
Take lots of rest and limit physical activity

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables
Avoid analgesics/ pain killers
Consult your physician before taking any medicine.
